What Is an All-in-One Image Converter?
An image converter changes a picture from one file format to another, for example from PNG to JPG or from JPG to WebP. The file format decides how the picture is stored, how big the file is, whether it can be transparent and where it can be used. This all-in-one image converter lets you open several image types at once and turn them into JPG, PNG or WebP in a few clicks, without installing software and without creating an account.
The conversion runs inside your browser. Your pictures are never uploaded to a server, which keeps private photos, client work and product images safe.
How to Convert an Image Online
1. Add your images
Drag one or more pictures into the box or click to browse. The converter reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG and AVIF files, so you can mix formats in the same batch.
2. Choose the output format
Pick JPG, PNG or WebP in the Convert to list. WebP is selected by default because it gives a small file with good quality. Choose JPG for the widest compatibility and PNG when you need sharp edges or transparency.
3. Adjust quality and size
Use the quality slider to balance file size and sharpness. Around 80 to 90 percent is a good starting point for photos. You can also enter a maximum width in pixels to shrink large pictures at the same time. Leave the field empty to keep the original size.
4. Download the results
Each converted picture appears in the list with its new file size. Download one file at a time or press Download All to save the whole batch.
Which Output Format Should You Choose?
| Format | Best for | Transparency | File size |
|---|---|---|---|
| JPG | Photos, email attachments, forms and uploads that only accept JPG | No | Small |
| PNG | Logos, icons, screenshots, graphics with text | Yes | Larger |
| WebP | Websites and blogs that need fast loading pages | Yes | Smallest |
JPG vs PNG vs WebP
JPG
JPG uses lossy compression, which removes details the eye barely notices. It is ideal for photographs and works on every phone, computer, website and printer. It cannot store a transparent background, so transparent areas are filled with a colour. This converter lets you choose that background colour, and white is the default.
PNG
PNG uses lossless compression, so edges stay crisp and nothing is lost. It supports full transparency, which makes it the usual choice for logos, icons, stickers and interface screenshots. The files are bigger than JPG or WebP, especially for photos.
WebP
WebP is a modern format that can be lossy or lossless and supports transparency. At a similar visual quality its files are usually much smaller than JPG or PNG, which helps pages load faster. All current major browsers support it. If you need to share a picture with older software, convert it to JPG or PNG instead.
Why Convert Images to WebP for Your Website?
Images are often the heaviest part of a web page. Smaller images load faster, use less data on mobile and help your Core Web Vitals, especially the Largest Contentful Paint metric. Converting your JPG and PNG files to WebP is one of the easiest speed improvements for a blog or online shop. Keep the original files as a backup, upload the WebP versions and make sure each image still has a clear file name and alt text so search engines understand it.
Common Conversions People Need
- PNG to JPG: reduce file size for photos and screenshots, or meet an upload limit.
- JPG to PNG: prepare a picture for editing without more compression loss. Note that this does not bring back detail that is already gone.
- JPG or PNG to WebP: speed up a website.
- WebP to JPG or PNG: open a downloaded picture in software or on a form that does not accept WebP.
- AVIF to JPG or PNG: make a new-format picture compatible with older tools.
- GIF or BMP to PNG or WebP: replace old formats with a smaller, modern file.
- SVG to PNG or JPG: turn a vector graphic into a normal picture for sites that do not accept SVG.
What Happens to Transparency When You Convert?
Transparency survives only when the output is PNG or WebP. When you convert to JPG, the transparent areas become a solid colour, which you can set with the Background for JPG option. If you are unsure whether a file is really transparent, check it first with our Transparent PNG Checker.
Tips for the Best Conversion Results
- Start from the best original you have. Converting an already compressed file again loses a little more quality each time.
- For photos, 80 to 90 percent quality is usually enough. For graphics with text, use PNG or a higher quality.
- Set a maximum width when a picture is much larger than you need. A 6000 pixel photo is unnecessary for a blog post.
- If you need an exact file size such as 100 KB, use the Compress Image to Exact KB tool after converting.
- Photos can contain hidden camera and location data. Check it with the EXIF Metadata Remover and Viewer before you share them.
- For passport or visa photos use the Passport / Visa Photo Resizer, and for social media sizes use the Social Media Image Resizer.
Is Converting Images Safe and Free?
Yes. The converter is free, has no watermark and needs no sign-up. Because every picture is processed inside your browser, nothing is sent to a server and nobody else can see your files. You can convert as many images as you like, one by one or in a batch, on a phone, tablet or computer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an all-in-one image converter?
It is a tool that changes pictures from one file format to another. This one reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG and AVIF files and converts them to JPG, PNG or WebP in your browser.
How do I convert an image to JPG, PNG or WebP?
Drag your pictures into the box, choose the output format in the Convert to list, adjust the quality if you like and download the converted files one by one or all at once.
Can I convert many images at the same time?
Yes. You can add several images in one go, convert them together and press Download All to save the whole batch.
Which format is best for my website, JPG, PNG or WebP?
WebP usually gives the smallest file at good quality, so it is a great choice for fast pages. JPG is best for photos that must work everywhere, and PNG is best for logos, icons and graphics that need sharp edges or transparency.
Does converting an image reduce its quality?
Converting to JPG or WebP with a quality below 100 percent applies some compression, so the file gets smaller and may lose a little detail. PNG is lossless. Use a quality of 80 to 90 percent for photos to keep them looking sharp.
What happens to a transparent background when I convert to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid colour. You can pick that colour with the Background for JPG option. Convert to PNG or WebP to keep the transparency.
Can I resize images while converting them?
Yes. Enter a maximum width in pixels and larger pictures are scaled down while keeping their proportions. Leave it empty to keep the original size.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All conversion happens inside your browser, so your pictures never leave your device. The tool is free and needs no account.
